Ride for the North
Cycle to Edinburgh from the Heart of Yorkshire and raise funds for Barnardo’s.
Join us for 4 days of great cycling from 5 – 8 July 2012. A 220-mile journey from the edge of Harrogate to Edinburgh.
The ride will take you through some stunning countryside as you make your way through North Yorkshire, County Durham, Cumbria and the Scottish Borders before the final glorious descent into Edinburgh. The roads are quiet and we ensure there are breaks every fifteen miles or so to make each stage manageable with food and drinks available through the day. In the evenings we stay in friendly hotels and bed and breakfasts ensuring you have plenty of chance to recuperate, share the day's experiences and prepare for the next day.
The funds you raise will go to support the work of Barnardo's, a brilliant charity that believes in the potential of every child and young person no matter who they are, what they have done or what they have been through. You will have the chance to meet some of the young people from a local project in Harrogate who will greet you at the start of the ride and show how much your efforts mean to them by giving you a great send-off from the courtyard of Ripley Castle.
Support along the way is always at hand. We’ll give you plenty of ideas to help you raise the funds and get yourself into good shape. If you have any questions at all you can always give us a call.
