Thanks to all the riders who took part in the very first Oxford 100/50 bike ride on Sunday to raise money for their chosen charities. It was a beautiful warm sunny day and the event was a huge success with over 200 people taking part! The pictures from the ride are available here:

From the start at Oxpens Meadows the route follows beautiful country lanes across the Cotswold Hills to the finish, where you can enjoy refreshments, live music and a well-earned drink in the beer tent!

Minimum rider age 16 years. All riders are required to wear a helmet. A selection of helmets will be available for purchase on the day

Ride Gradings

Suitable for anyone who enjoys a reasonably active life. The pace is gentle and the terrain flat to undulating. Distances no more than 30 miles (50km).

Suitable for those with slightly more cycling experience. the terrain can be a little hillier than grade 1.5 and distances up to 45 miles (70km).

For the regular and reasonably fit cyclist. The terrain may include some challenging hills and distances up to 75 miles (110km).

These routes require a good level of fitness and stamina and feature challenging inclines and/or a longer time in the saddle. Distances can be up to 100 miles (160km).

Getting here by car

From A34 Botley Interchange - follow A420 toward central Oxford and look for our signs. From A40 Headington Roundabout follow A4142/A423 Eastern By-Pass then A4144 Abingdon Rd. toward central Oxford and look for our signs.
Parking at Finish is available on a 'first come, first served' basis at Oxford and Cherwell Valley College opposite finish area (OX1 1SA) from 5.30am Sunday morning (£10/day) and once that's full, over in multi-storey car park also opposite Finish area (Westgate Centre Car Park - more pricey). (DON'T use the Ice Rink car park - you may get a ticket!). Follow signs for Bike Events car park in both cases.

Getting here by train

Please check with operator regarding carriage of bikes and nearest station to get you to the start.

As they receive no Government or National Lottery funds, Midlands Air Ambulance rely solely on donations and sponsorship from the general public and businesses across the areas they serve. By taking part, your support will help fund countless life saving air ambulance missions across the region.
