The mostly traffic-free 40 mile route is ideal for family cycling and takes you along part of the Manchester Ship Canal towards Liverpool while the longer, all on-road 55 mile route, crosses the canal to Culcheth, Rainford and Knowsley, meeting the riders on the short route at Childwall and heading together to the finish at Alfred Holt recreation Ground, as stones throw from the mighty Mersey.

*PLEASE NOTE The 40 mile route follows part of the Trans Pennine Trail alongside the Manchester Ship Canal. We advise that this route option is most suitable for city / hybrid and mountain bikes with a minimum tyre size of 1.5"
