Cycle Thailand
We ride through the famed Golden Triangle and on to Phu Chi Fa, high in the mountains, a unique spot in Northern Thailand with a rich diversity of flora and fauna. Local children carrying crops on their backs will pass you as they go about their daily travails. Very few Westerners visit this area. Early risers can enjoy a 4am sunset over the Laos jungle border way beneath us.
We continue into Nan, Thailand’s most remote and undiscovered province and once an autonomous region. Tucked away in a valley overlooked by the forested Luang Prabang Ridge that creates a border with Lao, with no less than 6 national parks, and sloped winding roads through orchard, paddy fields and verdant forest, Nan province is a cyclist’s paradise. On our cycling adventure we encounter minority cultures, a mountain scenery of karst peaks and rolling mists, rare species and local culture.
You will visit hidden temples, traditional markets, tumbling waterfalls and tranquil retreats in some of Thailand’s most ethnically diverse regions. encountering some challenging terrain. Our tour ends in the principal city Nan where there are sites of interest including the national museum and the 16th century Wat Phumin.
